Potential for applying endophytes to increase saline and Thionic Fluvisols tolerance in plants

Abstract
The Mekong Delta is a crucial agricultural region of Vietnam, but with a large area of saline and Thionic Fluvisols soil. The saline and Thionic Fluvisols condition causes disadvangtages on crop cultivation. In addtion, crop cultivation in the Mekong Delta is seriously facing to climate change. Climate change is indeed a growing global issue that is having detrimental effects on agriculture. The changing climate patterns, extreme weather events, and rising temperatures are posing significant challenges to farmers and food production worldwide. The harmful effects of climate change are particularly evident in the increase and impact of acidic salinity on crops. Therefore, finding ways to adapt, cope and produce in the situation of increasingly climate change as well as enhance plant growth to withstand acidic salinity is an urgent issue today.
This study specifically focuses on the group of endogenous microorganisms (endophytes) asscociated within host-plants. The interaction of endophytic community in plants can help them increasing their resistance to stress, environmentally hard condition, dealing with the current acidic and saline situation in the Mekong Delta area. The plant - endophytic interaction has been widely studied worldwide with great potentials. As the result, plant - endophytic interactions are revealed as increasing plant growth and better adaption of harsh conditions by biosynthesizing amino acids, carotenoids, vitamins, phytohormones, reactive oxygen species, as well as increasing disease resistance and the ability to absorb nutrients... These beneficial characteristics are idealized to be studied and applied into crop cultivation, especially in current challenges of climate change. The study offers a potent solution for the challenges faced in crop cultivation in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam in the backdrop of climate change. The suggestion can potentially contribute to improving crop yield, addressing environmental concerns, and enhancing food security for agricultural activities in the Mekong Delta.
